My heart skipped a beat or two when I stepped into my home for the night here in Burgundy, France. 👀

Hôtel le Cep is in the heart of historic Beaune. It is made up of a union of many old homes built between the 14th and the 18th centuries. 🏰

All of the rooms and suites are totally unique. Not only that but each room is furnished with antiques and are named for famous Burgundy wines.

There are certain colors that dominate memory. They are infused with the hues of dreams and mixed on the palette of the mind’s eye.

But it’s the tones of nostalgia that stand out the most: lingering longing for places and moments we have or have not experienced that creates a void in our beings so deep that its echo is felt in every moment.

As the early morning light casts its glow over the reds of the bricks in the city I call home, I feel a constant longing for other cities I have not yet experienced.

In the light that falls onto the street early in the evening I see the same light casting its glow on the spaces I wish to walk thousands of miles away.

This travel blog is my ongoing tale; a never-ending quest to experience the places that dominate my dreams.
