There are moments that are completely unforgettable. Hiking to the top of the mountain overlooking this spot is one of them. Illulissat Icefjord is one of the northernmost world heritage sites in the world. It’s filled with icebergs that carve from one of the fastest moving glaciers in the world. The Icefjord is enormous: 55 km long and 6 km wide (size of around 60,000 football fields) and it is growing larger due to glacier retreat that is occurring at a faster rate than ever before.

We stood there and these ice giants - the keepers of the earth’s lore sang a haunting song with their creaking movements and bubbling melt-water. And I felt small and helpless in the face of it all. (at Ilulissat Icefjord)
