Nice - France I had every intention of posting an epic French Riviera photo but got totally transfixed by the magical light here in Nice. And so, here I am just moments ago. Nice is breathtaking. Just got in earlier today and am staying at Le Grand Hotel Florence which is central to almost everything. Nice - France

I had every intention of posting an epic French Riviera photo but got totally transfixed by the magical light here in Nice.

And so, here I am just moments ago.

Nice is breathtaking. Just got in earlier today and am staying at Le Grand Hotel Florence which is central to almost everything.

Life is beautiful.

France - Barbizon Near the forest of Fontainebleau in France sits a town called Barbizon. The town is tiny with a winding main road surrounded by the type of buildings you imagine when you close your eyes and think about enchanted stories that take place in storybook towns. The day I visited Barbizon was a cloudy day which wasn’t out of the ordinary in the month of March. The skies above France always seem to be in a battle of wits with themselves, the result of which casts a dramatic glow over the cityscapes and landscapes. Barbizon is the home of the Barbizon School of painters. The Barbizon School of painters were part of a greater art movement in the 1800s towards realism in art. Influenced by the English painter, John Constable, the movement was a response to the Romantic movement. Millet, Rousseau, and Corot were just a few painters who called Barbizon home and who drew inspiration from Barbizon’s surrounding landscapes. — In less than 24 hours, I am returning to France for 3 weeks. I will be visiting the South of France for 2 weeks and then spending another week in Paris. I will be visiting Nice, Aix-En-Provence, Marseilles, Montpellier, Carcassone and the towns along the Canal du Midi (on a river cruise!), and then Paris for night photography.
